Roy Dewayne "Peanut" Shewbart Obituary (1946

Roy Dewayne “Peanut” Shewbart, 71 of Black Pond Community, entered into rest on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Dewayne was born on August 17, 1946. He began his career working in coal mines and later went on to start his own logging company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, working on his tractors, and talking and joking with everyone. Along with being a good provider, Dewayne was a hard working husband, and a loving father and grandfather. He was a teacher of skills and life. Dewayne was a good friend and he would help anyone in need. He could also throw some of the finest tantrums you have ever seen! He was known on the CB radio as “Peanut”. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 6-8pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be on Sunday at 2pm. Brother Danny Page will officiate. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery in Black Pond. Dewayne is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Ann Shewbart; son, Bryan Dewayne; daughters, Ronda, Vicki and Anita; brother, Dewight; sisters, Patti and Deborah; he was “Paw Paw” to 6 grandchildren, Kasey, Ashley, Scott, Trent, Sarah and Will; and 2 great grandchildren, Wesley and Shelby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Calvin and Ila Eulene Humphries Shewbart; grandparents, Martin Luther and Lilllian Anthum Johnston Shewbart, and Noah Asberry and Rhoda Louella Elvira Curtis Humphries.
