Rita Taylor

Rita U. Taylor, age 89 of Double Springs, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Hendrix Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born January 5, 1937 in Beckenham Kent, England to John P. and Gertrude Upton. Rita was known for her strong will and tenacious personality. She enjoyed antiquing and collecting holiday and post cards. Rita especially enjoyed corresponding by letter.

Rita is survived by her sons, Mark Taylor (Stella), Darryl Taylor, and Michael Taylor; grandchildren, Eric Taylor, Kristen Taylor (John), Ashley Osborne, Tyler Taylor, and Michael Alan Taylor (Kimberly); great grandchildren, Ross Taylor and Margaret Taylor; and sister, Yvonne Bott.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross M. Taylor, Jr.; and parents, John and Gertrude Upton.
