James Edward Nelson Sr. Obituary (1940

James Edward Nelson Sr., 77, of Houston, entered into rest on February 11, 2018 at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper. Edward was born on October 15, 1940, in Moulton, Alabama. He was a professional window cleaner. Edward enjoyed fishing and working on cars. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 6 - 8pm at New Home Baptist Church in the Moreland Community, where services will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 11am, he will lie in state from 10-11am. Brother Johnny Sims will officiate. Burial will follow in Moreland Community Cemetery. Edward is survived by his son, James Nelson Jr. and his fiancé Teariany Powell; step sons, Toby Hardesty, Robert Hardesty; step daughter, Cindy Nelson; brother Bobby Ayers and his wife Lois; sister, Billy Fay Key and her husband David. He had 9 step grandchildren, 13 step great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, Cole and Jayda. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verda Hardesty; daughter, Marenda Nelson; parents, Elijah and Elsie Nelson; step daughter, Holly Jones, and a step son.
