Gary Ronald Edwards Obituary (1947

Gary "Leo" Ronald Edwards, 71 of Arley, passed away on July 2, 2018 at his home. Gary was born on January 27, 1947 in Jasper. He graduated from Carbon Hill High School in 1966 and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After the Army, he went to work at U.S. Steel in Fairfield, AL where he retired in 2006 after 35 years. During his years of retirement Gary enjoyed spending time with family and playing golf. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 5:00pm - 6:00pm at Meek Baptist Church in Arley, Alabama, where services will be held at 6:00pm. Brother Thomas Hyche and Brother Ron Wooten will officiate. Private burial will be in Meek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Keeton, Jason Chambers, Mark Chambers, Jeremy Chambers and Shane Pate; and honorary pallbearers will be Larry Reed, Don Pepper and Darrell Pate. Gary is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lynda Walker Edwards; son, Jamie Edwards; daughter, Casi Poslajko and her husband Paul; sisters, Kathy Pate and Diane Chambers and her husband Jake; and he was Pop to his grandson Samuel Wade Poslajko. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Eula B. Edwards; and his sister, Carolyn "Sue" Barton.
