Danny "Dan" Ray Pruitt, 51, of Haleyville, entered into rest on Monday, March 19, 2018 at his home. Mr. Pruitt was born on July 24, 1966 in Haleyville. Dan attended Maxwell Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved watching WWE wrestling and sports, especially Alabama football. Dan was known as "Dan the weather man" or "Doppler Dan". Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 6pm-8pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 2pm. Brother Jeff Whitten will officiate. Burial will follow in Maxwell Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Dan is survived by his son, Eric Southern; father, Clyde Pruitt; mother, Docie Dill; siblings, Ricky Pruitt and wife Tammy, Loretta Plemmons and husband Stephen, Darrin Pruitt and wife Lori, Randy Pruitt and wife Pam, Emily Pruitt; and special friend, Amy Darty; also a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant brothers, Barry Allen Pruitt and Kenny Lee Pruitt.
