Charles "David" Martin Obituary (1969

Charles “David” Martin, 48, of Nauvoo, entered into rest on July 30, 2018 at UAB Hospital, Birmingham surrounded by his loved ones. David was born on August 29, 1969 in Hammond, Indiana. He graduated from Winston County High School in 1987. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, old cars and drag racing. He was an animal lover and loved his best buddy, Yogi. David loved coaching baseball and was known as “Super Dave” by his softball buddies. He was given the nickname “Dino” by his father in law. David was a loving husband, super dad, loving son, best brother in the world and one of the best friends a person could have. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 12pm-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be held at 2pm. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Brother Shawn Blanton will officiate. David is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jo Ann Martin; father, James Quinton Martin; mother in law, Betty Humphries; son, Jacob Eli Martin; daughter, Amber Lashae Martin; brother, Daniel (Karen) Martin; sister, Deborah Martin; and sister in law, Jan McDonald. He was blessed with nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Earline Dutton Martin; father in law, Horace Humphries; grandparents, Aurthur and Floy Martin, and Beatrice and Calvin Dutton.
