Bertie Mae Clayton

Bertie Mae Clayton, 92, of Haleyville, entered into rest on February 3, 2018 at Haleyville Health Care.

Mrs. Clayton was born on January 7, 1926 in Bear Creek, Alabama. Bertie was a member of Mt. Home Church. She loved spending time with her family. Bertie enjoyed going to yard sales. She was well known in Bear Creek for her yard full of beautiful flowers every spring and fall. Bertie was known as "Maw" to everyone in the community.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 12pm-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 2pm. Brother Steve Lawler will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Home Cemetery.

Bertie is survived by her sons, Richard Clayton and wife Jana, Wesley Clayton and wife Jennifer. She was "Maw" to nine grandchildren, Scotty Clayton, Jamie Clayton, Lani Clayton, Evan Clayton, Brandon Clayton, Trey Rowand, Brandon Rowand, Cecillia Kate Smith, Tiffany Southirongnorath, and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Clayton; son, James Clayton; parents, Ester and Omega Ward; and eight siblings.
